Amiran Communications Limited

Israeli Firm to lay KDN’s Optic Cable Network

Following the rise in recent years of security awareness has been contracted for installation and commissioning of an advanced IP based CCTV system at Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Amiran Communications began in late 2009, installation of hundreds of CCTV cameras at Ethiopia’s main gateway. This project is another mile stone in a long string of security related large scale undertakings that Amiran Communications has been involved in together with its main partner in this area – Pelco. With over 5000 employees headquartered in Fresno, California, Pelco, a part of the Schneider Group of Companies, is the world’s largest CCTV solutions supplier and Amiran’s exclusive partner in East Africa. Over its long and impressive history, Pelco systems have been used for securing entire cities and for some of the world’s most important installations.

The current Bole project, intended to upgrade the level of security in Ethiopia’s main airport, was awarded to Amiran Communications through an international tender while competing with some of the world’s leading companies in this field. Amiran has again exhibited its ability to take on projects of such scale in the EA region.

Amiran Communications General Manager, Amir Grinberg, who fathered the partnership between Amiran and Pelco several years ago, is pleased with the direction the partnership has taken: “Amiran Communications and Pelco decided to work together with the goal of bringing Pelco’s technology together with Amiran’s ability to offer turnkey integration and implementation to the East African region” said Grinberg adding “We are very proud of what we have accomplished together so far. The Bole project in Addis is another example of the ever growing basket of solutions that Amiran Communications has to offer and the scale at which we are able to operate”.

Installation of the entire system at Bole International Airport, which will bring the level of security in Ethiopia, a major hub in the region, to a new level, was complete in January 2010.
